I'm so excited to announce that Flying and Falling has received a Storylines Notable Book Award in 2023!
Storylines Children's Literature Charitable Trust Te Whare Waituhi Tamariki o Aotearoa promotes reading in New Zealand, with a focus on supporting and spotlighting Kiwi authors and illustrators.
The Storylines Notable Book Awards List has been running since 1999 and selects up to ten books in each category each year.
It's such an honour to be included in this year's list, alongside some of the greats in New Zealand Young Adult publishing. Being able to achieve success in the award as an independent author is also something I take a lot of pride in.
Flying and Falling is an empowering, hopeful story about teenagers coping with mental health struggles, wrapped up in a sweet, swoony romance.
